Death isn’t just about death. It’s about life, too. It’s about transition, shape shifting, evolution and learning. But when we enter the hallways of grief we may be raw, or we may be numb. We may bend and crack, transforming before our own eyes. Or we may feel stifled, quiet, silent, resentful. Angry. Stuck. Moving through this space is a process of dynamic change, because this hallway is truly volcanic and transformative.

And loss…it’s not just about death.

    Ideally, death is a communal process. We all deserve support during life’s most profound transformation. Everyone, including family and friends, will have different needs during this transitional process. Some needs may be more practical, while others may require more creative approaches, like memorial and life celebration projects.   • Death Attendant

    The process of death has many stages. When we come closer to the end, it may be helpful to have a spare pair of hands on deck. Maybe you need someone to sit, and provide presence, so caregivers can take a break. Maybe someone needs a cup of coffee, or a sandwich, while waiting. Maybe planned ritual work is needed, to support the experience. Death has many stages, and a death attendant can provide many types of support.   • Ancestral Healing

    All over the world, throughout human history, human cultures have honored ancestral traditions and connections in many ways. Ancestral reconnection work can be fascinating and healing. Reconnecting to ancestral spirits and stories can also help us learn more about those who came before us, when we have gaps in our current knowledge.
